What is it for?

To split the flow of water in two directions or join two water flows in to one pipe.

Where do you use it?

Between three lengths of pipe to join them but split the flow between two pipes. Often used in conjunction with a Ball Valve to divert water flow e.g. to a heater.

Or just before the pump to join the water from the skimmer to the water from the main drain in to one pipe to enter the pump.
