The 500 micron Blue/Gold Solar Cover is the top of the range solar cover.

500 microns refers to the thickness of the plastic the cover is made from. The thicker the plastic the stronger the cover but also the heavier it is.  It has an aesthetically pleasing  blue top surface. The gold underside is designed, like tin foil, to reflect heat back in to the pool making it retain more heat than a conventional blue/blue cover.

The blue/gold cover does not retain much more heat than the blue/sliver but it is stronger and has a 4 year pro rata warranty as opposed to 3 years on the blue/silver.

Having a Leading Edge Kit fixed to the cover makes it much easier to pull the cover back on to the pool. You can buy a kit and fix it yourself or you have the option of having it fitted at the factory.
